MANAGING YOUR CLAIM

Making a claim can be a daunting and stressful experience for anyone. We are here to ensure honesty and clarity in everything we do. We can manage your claim from the very beginning or take over complicated claims that have already begun. The stress of an insurance claim can be overwhelming, particularly after a traumatic event, let Priority Scotland handle that for you.

Your insurance claim will remain ‘open’ until we send our final invoice over to the insurance company. This means that should any additional issues be found after authorisation is received for the reinstatement of your property, we can add those to your claim with no additional excess required by your insurer.

NO CHARGE TO YOU

We do not charge our customers for the service we provide. All of the work we carry out during the restoration and reinstatement of your property is charged to and paid for by the insurer. The only cost you will have to deal with is the cost of the excess on your policy. Customers of our Referral Partnership Commitment (RPC) Clients enjoy the opportunity to reduce the claim’s hassle and costs, whilst also benefitting from an added income stream from our referral payments.

FAQ'S

We work for you – the policyholder – and not the insurance company. The insurance company will have someone looking after their interests such as a Loss Adjuster. Our role is to ensure your interests are looked after and a full and fair settlement is reached.

No, in a nutshell, if we are appointed as your claims representative, there is no need to gain additional quotes, as we will survey the damage and provide a full detailed report with cost to your insurer on your behalf. This is an unfair practice by insurance companies in any instance as they are putting you in a position to vet and qualify an appropriate contractor.

Once you have signed a mandate we will handle all further contact with the insurance company and the loss adjuster or any other party.

Testimonial

August 2020 we had a burst pipe upstairs in our own home, our insurers were great and got contractors on it right away. Flooring removed, furniture away to be dried and stored, dehumidifiers it, everything looked like it was going to be simple.

We were given a start date for the works and put up in a Premier Inn hotel for 2 weeks, I work from home so had to pop home each morning to work while the contractors were here and head to hotel at night, this lasted about 3 nights and we moved back home as our bedroom was unaffected, our neighbour had the same insurance company as us and had a similar burst pipe a few months after us, they were put in a riverside apartment for 3 weeks.

Anyway long story short the joiners, tilers, and decorators made a total hash of everything, wall paper not matching, gaps in joints of woodwork, uneven tiles, the list goes on.

Anyway, I told them to get out of my house and told the insurance company, at this point the place was half-finished, but the workmanship was so poor everything needed stripping off and re-done, it was 4 days before Christmas 2020. My feeling was the guys just wanted to be done for Christmas to get onto the next job after the break.

My insurers weren’t really fussed either way and emails and calls went back and forth with no progress, I put a shout out on here and someone mentioned a company called Priority Scotland, I contacted them and Leo called me and popped out for a chat, from there he really just grabbed the bull by the horns and became my expert between the insurance and the contractors.

Priority Scotland and I met the contractors and insurers in my house a few times and they tried playing hardball, Leo was having none of their nonsense and told them what was what, in a very professional way.

Anyway this story is dragging on, if I knew then what I know now I would have contacted Leo at Priority Scotland before any contractor came to my house, as you don’t need to accept the insurer’s contractors or put up with a Prem Inn standard Hotel.

I am pretty sure most companies would have walked away from my claim as my insurers were a nightmare with long gaps between emails, and not taking calls, but Leo dug deep and got us what we were due, he kept me up to speed with progress and put up with my moans along the way.

So if you are looking at putting in an insurance claim, speak to Leo first, I am sure he will keep you right and get you what you are due with minimal fuss.
